What we do

Domestic and commercial scaffolding, designed around your job

All services

Why clients stay with us

You deal with the owner, not a call centre

Billy Kelly has spent 24 years in scaffolding and runs every job personally with a team of five. When you ring, you speak to the person who will price the work, plan the structure and be on site while it goes up.

  • Dates you can build a programme around

We commit to a date and we turn up on it. Trades booked around the scaffold do not get stood down.

  • Competent, carded operatives

All operatives hold in-date CISRS cards; Billy holds a Gold Scaffolding Supervisor card.

  • Insured to £10 million

Full public liability cover, with certificates available on request.

  • Respect for your property

Clear access, careful tie-ins and a word with the neighbours where the scaffold sits close.

What customers say

Reviews from Google

Billy and his team are fantastic. They came recommended by our roofer and I saw why immediately. No issues working around the conservatory. Turned up when they said they would — good communication and fair pricing.

Ben Ealovega

Billy and his team were very efficient, professional and helpful. He would answer any question you have, very approachable. Price was very competitive — overall no complaints and will use him again.

Neil Christie

Billy and his team were quick and efficient erecting and quickly dismantling once the work was completed. Very competitive on price — all round I would definitely recommend them and would use them again. A+.

Where we work

Based in Eastergate, covering the South East

JBS Yard, Eastergate Lane, PO20 3SJ.

A local scaffolding contractor for West Sussex and beyond

Square Scaffolding Solutions Ltd is an owner-led scaffolding company based at JBS Yard in Eastergate, West Sussex. We provide domestic scaffolding, commercial scaffolding, temporary roof scaffolding and emergency scaffolding for clients across West Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and East Sussex, including scaffolding in Chichester, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Arundel, Worthing, Portsmouth and Horsham. Whether you are re-roofing a semi, rendering a detached house, installing solar panels or running a phased commercial refurbishment, the access has to be right before anything else can start.

Billy Kelly founded the company after 24 years working in the trade, and that experience shapes how the business runs. Scaffolding is not complicated to buy, but it is easy to buy badly: a price given over the phone without seeing the property, a date that slips, a structure that does not suit the works. We do the opposite. Every job starts with a free site visit so we can see the ground conditions, the boundaries, the access route and what the trades actually need to reach. You then get a written quote with the hire period stated up front.

Standard hire runs for six weeks unless we agree something different. That covers most domestic projects comfortably, and if your build overruns we will arrange an extension rather than leave you without access halfway through a roof. On commercial and contractor work we plan erection, adaptations and dismantle around the programme, and we can issue risk assessments, method statements and handover packs on request.

Competence matters on site. Every operative at Square Scaffolding holds an in-date CISRS card, and Billy holds a Gold Scaffolding Supervisor card, so supervision is qualified and documented. The company carries £10,000,000 public liability insurance and is a member of the Scaffolding Association. Certificates can be supplied with your paperwork whenever a main contractor, insurer or building control officer asks for them.

Our range of work covers more than a standard elevation scaffold. We build access and birdcage scaffolds for ceilings and large internal spaces, chimney scaffolds with proper boarded platforms at ridge height, roof edge protection for roofing and solar teams, loading bays for moving materials on bigger sites, shoring and temporary support where structure is being altered, and industrial scaffolding phased around live operations. Temporary roofs are one of the most valuable things we offer: once a roof is stripped, a sheeted temporary roof keeps the building dry, protects the work below and stops the programme stalling every time the weather turns.

Emergencies are handled the same way — directly. Storm damage, a failed roof or an unsafe wall needs a straight answer about what can be done and when, not a queue. Ring Billy, describe what has happened, and you will get an honest response about timescales.

What customers tell us most often is that we turn up when we say we will, communicate clearly, and treat the property and the neighbours with respect. Scaffolding sits outside someone's home or business for weeks at a time, so how it is put up and how the team behaves matters as much as the steel itself. That is what "solutions, not problems" means in practice.

If you need scaffolding in West Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey or East Sussex, call 07738 062043 or request a free site visit. Quotes are free, visits are free, and there is no obligation either way.
