Terms & conditions
The terms we quote, hire and work to. Anything written into your individual quote comes first.
1. These terms
These terms apply to scaffolding supplied, erected, hired, altered and dismantled by Square Scaffolding Solutions Ltd ("we", "us"). Anything specific to your job that we have written into your quote takes precedence over these general terms.
2. Site visits and quotes
Site visits and quotes are free of charge and carry no obligation. Quotes are based on what we can see and what you tell us at the time of the visit. If the scope, access or ground conditions turn out to be materially different, we will tell you before doing extra work and agree any change with you.
3. Hire period
Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, the standard hire period is six weeks from the date the scaffold is handed over. If your project runs longer, contact us before the period ends and we will arrange an extension rather than leave you without access.
4. Access and site conditions
You are responsible for giving us clear, safe access to the working area on the agreed date, including moving vehicles, bins and garden items where needed. Delays caused by access not being available may affect the programme.
Where the scaffold needs to stand on or over a public highway, footpath or verge, a licence from the local authority is required. We will tell you if your job needs one and how it will be handled before we start.
5. Using the scaffold
The scaffold is handed over for the purpose described in the quote. Nobody other than our operatives may alter, extend, move, overload or remove any part of it, including ties, guardrails, boards and brick guards. If any part is altered or removed by others, stop using it and call us on 07738 062043 so we can inspect and put it right.
Sheeting, netting, monoflex and debris protection are supplied only where they are listed in your quote.
6. Inspections and safety
Our operatives hold in-date CISRS cards and our work is supervised by a holder of a Gold Scaffolding Supervisor card. We are a member of the Scaffolding Association. Risk assessments, method statements and handover documentation can be issued on request.
You should report anything that looks damaged, loose or out of place to us immediately so it can be checked.
7. Insurance and liability
We carry £10,000,000 public liability insurance; certificates are available on request. Our liability does not extend to loss or damage caused by third parties altering, misusing or overloading the scaffold, or by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
8. Damage, loss and theft
While the equipment is on your site it remains our property. You are asked to take reasonable care of it. Where equipment is lost, stolen or damaged by others during the hire period, we may charge for its replacement or repair.
9. Dismantling
Tell us when the work is finished and we will arrange to strike the scaffold. Access to the site must be available for dismantling in the same way as for erection.
10. Payment and disputes
Payment terms are those stated on your quote or invoice. If anything is not right, contact us first — we would rather come back and sort it out than leave a customer unhappy.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Contact: 07738 062043 or info@squarescaffoldingsolutions.co.uk.
